BMW X5: Removing And Installing/Replacing All Trims On Left Or Right Seat Rails

Operation is identical to:

Removing all trims on left or right seat rail.

REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING GUIDE FOR FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT HEAD RESTRAINT

Operation is identical to:

REPLACING PADDING FOR FRONT SEAT THIGH SUPPORT

Release screws (1).

Installation:

Insert screws (1) with Loctite.

Unhook seat cover (1) from marked area.

Remove carrier (2) for thigh support.

For seat heating optional extra only: Carefully detach felt (1) from thigh support.

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Installation:

Ensure correct cable routing.

Remove padding from cover.

REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT

Operation is identical to:

Replacing left or right front seat (normal/electric).

REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH SEAT RAILS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT

Operation is identical to:

Replacing both seat rails on left or right front seat (normal/electric).

REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SEAT FRAME ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT

Operation is identical to:

Replacing seat frame on left or right front seat (normal/electric).

REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING ADJUSTING UNIT FOR THIGH SUPPORT ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Move thigh support forwards as far as possible.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Release screws (2).

Installation:

Insert screws (2) with Loctite.

Release screws in areas (1).

Feed out adjusting unit (2) complete with drive in direction of arrow and remove.

REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BACKREST FRAME ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT

Operation is identical to:

Replacing backrest frame on front seat (comfort).

REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING OUTER COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT

Operation is identical to:

REMOVING AND INSTALLING INNER COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT

Operation is identical to:

Replacing inner cover on left or right front seat (normal/electric).

REPLACING LUMBAR CUSHION ON FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT SEAT

Operation is identical to:

Replacing lumbar cushion on front left or right seat (normal/electric).

REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING VALVE HOUSING FOR LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT LUMBAR SUPPORT

Operation is identical to:

Replacing valve housing for left or right front lumbar support (normal/electric)
