BMW X5: Removing And Installing/Replacing All Trims On Left Or Right Seat Rails

Replacing all trims on left or right seat rail (comfort).

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove head restraint.
- Remove rear panel on front seat.
Press catches together and feed guide upwards out of cover and padding.

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove outer cover on front seat.
Pull lever and release screw (1).
NOTE: Protect seat rails (mechanism) by covering against chips/swarf.
Drill out rivets (2) with 4.2 mm dia. drill bit.
Remove actuating unit.

Unclip Bowden cable sleeve (1).
Feed Bowden cable nipple (2) out of fixture (3).

Pull lever forward to remove:
If necessary, lever out lower locking point (1) from rear with a
screwdriver.
Release screw (2).
If necessary, move seat fully forwards and upwards.
