BMW X5: Transmission Suspension
REPLACING RUBBER MOUNT FOR TRANSMISSION MOUNTING
Special Tools Required:
- 22 1 016 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS
- 22 1 017 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS
- 22 1 101 22 1 100 FIXTURE
- 22 1 102 22 1 100 FIXTURE
- 22 1 103 22 1 100 FIXTURE
- 33 4 465 33 4 460 SET OF TOOLS
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove cross-member.
Place special tool 22 1 016. Refer to 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS on opening (1) and insert screw (2) until hand-tight against housing.
Pull out rubber mount with special tools 22 1 101/ 33 4 465. Refer to 22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS and nut (22 1 017)22 1 010 SET OF TOOLS.

Installation:
Arrow on rubber mount must point to arrow on housing.
Coat housing bore and rubber mount with Circolight, refer to BMW Parts Service.

Insert special tool 22 1 102 with pins into openings of rubber mount.

Install rubber mount with special tools 22 1 102/22 1 103/33 4 465 and 22 1 017.

REPLACING CROSS-MEMBER FOR TRANSMISSION MOUNTING
Special Tools Required:
- 00 2 030 00 2 030 UNIVERSAL HYDRO-LIFTER BASIC UNIT
- 23 0 132 23 TRANSMISSION DESIGNATIONS
- 23 4 050 23.. UNIVERSAL TRANSMISSION BRACKET
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove underbody protection
- Remove heat shields
- Remove exhaust system
Supporting Transmission:
Support with special tools 23 4 050, 23 0 132 and 00 2 030 00 2 030 UNIVERSAL HYDRO-LIFTER BASIC UNIT.
Secure transmission with tensioning strap (1).
Tasks are described in TRANSMISSION BRACKET.

Release screws.
Tightening torque 22 32 4AZ 22 32 TRANSMISSION MOUNTS. Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 22 32 5AZ 22 32 TRANSMISSION MOUNTS. Remove cross-member.

RELAY CARRIER
Place special tool 61 1 153 on relay carrier (1) and carefully pull in
direction of arrow until retaining lugs (2) on
relay carrier are raised.

Pull relay carrier (2) in direction of arrow into first catch (3).

Removing And Installing Rear Cabin Monitor (Complete)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
Remove fresh-air grille in rear cabin.
Remove trim from rear cabin monitor base at front.
Release screws (1) and remove rear cabin monitor with holder (2).
Disconnect associated plug connections and feed out leads.
Tightening torque.
