Necessary preliminary tasks:
Remove rear differential.
Withdraw shaft seal with special tools 00 5 010 and 32 1 060 / 33
Replacing Rear Cover Gasket On Rear Differential (188K)
IMPORTANT: To avoid leaks from the rear differential cover, do not use
a paper gasket in
cars with liquid gaskets!
To prevent the differential oil from foaming over, make sure that no remnants
of the

IMPORTANT: Use only approved gear oils.
Failure to comply with this instruction will result in serious damage to the
rear

Necessary preliminary tasks:
Follow instructions for working on cooling system.
Remove fan cowl.
Drain coolant.
Unlock coolant hoses and detach.
Release screws.

Gap Dimensions, Body
The dimensions specified in this document are applicable at an object
temperature of 20ºC. The aim of
adjustment is to achieve a uniform join.
Symmetry of the gaps between left and right sides of the vehicle has top
priority.
The door gaps must not deviate between the front and rear gap by more
