BMW X5: Control Unit Box
REPLACING FAN FOR ELECTRONICS BOX
NOTE: Follow instructions for removing and installing electronic
control units.
- Remove control unit.
- Read fault memory. Switch off ignition.
Unclip plug (1).
Remove DDE control unit (3).
Remove relay plug-in (5) towards top.
Release screws (4).
Lift out device carrier (2).
Unfasten plug connection and disconnect.
Release air cowl (1).
Remove electric fan (2) with bracket.
Add final details to vehicle.
Read fault memory.

WARNING: US/CDN front passenger seat (with OC3 mat) only:
The padding can only be removed in conjunction with the OC3 mat.
If padding is defective, both parts may only be replaced together. After fitting
new padding, enable OC3 mat with BMW diagnosis system.
The operation for removing the padding
The movement of the nozzle needle in the injector is generated no longer by a
solenoid coil but rather by a
piezo-element.
A piezo-element is an electromechanical converter, i.e. it consists of a ceramic
material which converts electrical energy directly into mechanical energy
(force/travel).
