BMW X5: Removing And Installing/Replacing Front Differential

BMW X5 (G05) 2019-2026 Service & Repair Manual / Front Axle / Front Axle Gearbox / Removing And Installing/Replacing Front Differential

WARNING: Danger to life! Mount securing fixture for vehicle on lifting platform to prevent the vehicle from slipping off or tilting down.

Secure engine in installation position to prevent it from falling down.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

IMPORTANT: Danger of injury! When releasing the last bolt, grip the front differential to prevent it from falling down.

Detach vent line (1).

Release bolts (2-4).

Remove front differential downwards.

Installation:

During removal and installation: Replace O-ring.

Coat O-ring with front differential oil.

Make sure screws are installed in correct positions.

Tightening torque.

Check front differential oil level , correct if necessary.

After installation:
